Our Story

Britt Development Company of Archdale LLC was incorporated in 1986 and was relocated to Morehead City, NC in 2002. Britt has built an array of different residential products ranging from single family lots through single and multifamily tract construction including townhome and condominium communities. A list and description of all of the Britt Communities are outlined.

Meet the Team

  • Dale Britt

    FOUNDER
    Dale Britt began his development career in 1986 with the Oak Forest Community in Archdale, NC and has since been the developer in the construction of over twenty-five communities throughout North Carolina. Britt attended NC State University and began his real estate career as Britt Realty Company, which later merged into Price and Britt Realtors. Through several other mergers he became a partner in Coldwell Banker Triad Realtors, a company which is still very prominent throughout the Piedmont area of North Carolina.

  • Alison Britt

    PRESIDENT
    Alison graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and began her real estate career in 1998 in High Point, NC. She worked in on-site sales with Britt Development Company in several new home communities. In 2004, Alison moved to Asheville, NC with her family. She began working with Beverly-Hanks after her children were in school and worked with them for 8 years in real estate brokerage. In May 2021, Alison moved to Morehead City to join Britt Development with her father, Dale.

  • Phil Collins

    CFO
    As a resident of Morehead City since 1993, Phil was an original founder, as well as President and CEO of Sound Bank. The Bank grew to $300 million in assets before it was sold in 2017. He is a graduate of NC State in Accounting and Business Management, has an MBA from UNC Charlotte, and is a CPA. Since 2017, Phil has worked as a consultant in operations and accounting with several multi-million dollar companies. He has been very involved in civic and community activities, most notably as past President of the Carteret Chamber of Commerce and Founder of Morehead City Downtown Revitalization. He is married with two daughters.

Marketing

Britt Development’s goal is always to have a builder/buyer in place to purchase 100% of the finished lots prior to beginning development, then work closely with the builder throughout the home construction phase by organizing and managing the Home Owners Association and assisting in any way necessary to ensure success in the quality and completion of the community.

Future Scope & Opportunities

Britt Development’s goal is to continue to build quality neighborhoods throughout North Carolina as primary owner/partner and developer. However, Britt is also available to land owners as a fee paid consultant to advise as to the highest and best use of land for development and to administer from start to finish the completion of subdivision development and marketing. If desired by the land owner, Britt also has the ability to join the project as a partner and can coordinate financing needs for all aspects of the planning, development, and completion.

Britt believes that successful community development requires a team approach, assembling strong professionals… engineers, infrastructure development contractors, builders, marketing specialists and working closely with municipal planners, town leaders, staff and adjoining neighbors to create the best possible outcome for all.
